AIPs, NOTAM

  1. RPAS : Remotely Piloted Aircraft System
  2. AIP : Aeronautical Information Publication : Media of document issued by a state’s civil aviation authority—such as regulations, procedures, and airport information—crucial for safe flight planning and operation
  3. NOTAM (Notice to Air Mission) :  a time-critical, urgent notice distributed to pilots.

National Rules

  1. MOCA – Ministry of Civil Aviation : National policies.
    • AAI – Airports Authority of India : A statutory body for managing airports and air traffic control services across India.
    • DGCA – Directorate General of Civil Aviation : under MOCA that oversees civil aviation safety, licensing, aircraft operations, and airworthiness in India.
    • CAR – Civil Aviation Requirements : Regulations issued by DGCA that lay down rules, standards, and procedures for civil aviation operations and safety in India.

      • Amendment :  1937 
  2. Bharatiya Vayuyan Adhiniyam, 2024 replaces the 90-year-old colonial-era Aircraft Act, 1934.
